On October 2, 2006, Open Text acquired Hummingbird and became the largest independent vendor in Enterprise Content Management (ECM). The combined entity is better positioned to serve the ECM needs of global organizations with a much broader portfolio of products and solutions.
Hummingbird Connectivity always was a key element of Hummingbird's strategy and identity and it will remain as such by becoming a division of Open Text. We believe the Hummingbird Connectivity™ family of products will be a valuable addition to the Open Text organization and we currently intend to continue to innovate and further develop the Connectivity product portfolio. We are very excited about the future prospects as we move forward.
